Starting this September, you will be able to “mix and match” three of any qualifying SAI workshops for one licensure renewal credit. This includes any legal offerings or other workshops. Within your five-year renewal period, you will be able to create multiple combinations (3 workshops = 1 credit). For example, you could attend three qualifying events in 2017-18 for a credit, and/or you could attend one qualifying event per year over the next three years.
Current qualifying offerings include those listed here:
Sept. 14 - Innovative Compensation Systems in Education
Oct 10 - Rethinking Teacher Evaluation
Oct. 19 - Fall Legal Lab
Nov. 6 - Fall Legal Lab (repeat session)
Nov. 14 - Effective Facilitation
Nov. 30 - Fall Legal Lab (repeat session)
Dec. 5 - Measuring and Building the Skills That Matter Most
Feb. 13, 2018 - Law Conference
Apr. 10, 2018 - Spring Legal Lab
More events will continue to be added and will be eligible for bundling with those already listed.
To honor the regional concept of the district meeting, we have also changed how credit will be awarded for participation in these meetings. Beginning this September, you will be able to bundle four district meetings for a renewal credit. One fall meeting and one spring meeting each year are eligible for this bundle, and you do not need to attend four consecutive meetings. For example, you could attend a district meeting in the fall of 2017, fall of 2018, spring of 2018, and spring of 2020 and be awarded a renewal credit. Or, you could attend one fall and one spring meeting every year; and within your five-year renewal period, you would have earned two renewal credits.
Note district meetings are not part of the “mix and match” workshop bundle.
We will offer Human Capital Strategies as a Change Lever in Education for Evaluator Approval at three different locations in June 2018. Requirements for credit (which includes Evaluator Approval):
- Full attendance and participation on both days
- Completion of 5 hours of online training via Battelle for Kid’s learning management system, some of which will be pre-work in preparation for the face-to-face with the remainder to be completed afterward
This course satisfies requirements for Evaluator Approval and is worth one licensure renewal credit.
